SAC Hosts Health Connections Expo February 5th 
Event Emphasizes Total Body Wellness, Not Just Muscles

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK This is not your Aunt Betty's health fair. Visitors to Health Connections Expo 2009 will do more than line up for a cholesterol test the Expo includes massage therapy, stress tests, ionic cleansing and more.

Held one day only on Tuesday, February 5th, the Expo's two sessions run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 to 7 p.m. Southern Athletic Club is located on S.E. 89th on the west side of the intersection with Interstate 35 in Oklahoma City. Admission to the Expo is free to the public.

Van Nguyen, Southern Athletic's fitness manager, said the Club sought to design an event that expands on the typical fitness message. Health and wellness are not just about building muscles, Nguyen said. It's about the whole person. Southern Athletic's philosophy is to promote wellness on all fronts body, mind and soul and the Expo is a way we can encourage those values publicly, as well as among our members.

Exhibitors will include Dr. Sally Church, a professional counselor and biofeedback therapist, who will demonstrate a computer-assisted stress scanner she uses in her practice. A sample scan will help participants pinpoint stress inducers in their lives and the effects of stress on their health.

The Club will also demonstrate its ionic cleansing program, proven to purge the body of pollutants, and reflexology services, which relieve areas in the feet that can relate to health problems and/or pain elsewhere in the body.

In a more traditional vein, representatives from Integris Health will be on hand to analyze blood pressure, perform glucosamine screening, and test cholesterol.
